Five years ago, I left the law to become a photogr Five years ago, I left the law to become a photographer. Not because I had stopped loving ambition, precision, or working hard. Quite the opposite. I just realised I wanted to build a life where I could create more, feel more, meet people, hear their stories, and preserve the moments that matter. So, for those of you who are new here, hi ! I’m Mathilde 🤍 Caelicia is the name behind my work, a name that has been with me since childhood, inspired by a perfume I was gifted when I was little. Delicate, memorable, and somehow impossible to forget. Paris, or more precisely Le Marais, has been home for the past eleven years. But Provence will always be part of me. It’s where I was born, where I still return often, and where everything seems to move a little more slowly. I’m fuelled by music, Charlotte Cardin and Patrick Watson on repeat, by travelling, by long conversations, and by the people I get to meet through this job. And photography ? It gives me all of that. Today, I photograph love stories with a documentary and heartfelt approach. I’m interested in what happens when no one is performing for the camera. The glance you didn’t realise anyone saw. The laughter that interrupts a sentence. The hands reaching for each other. The carefully chosen details. The people you love, simply being themselves. Because to me, photography isn’t only about what a day looked like. It’s about remembering how it felt. And when I’m there, I’m not just showing up with a camera. I care, I anticipate, I pay attention. I know when to step in and when to disappear. I put my heart into every story, but also a great deal of precision. Maybe that’s the lawyer in me after all.
